Classes

Beginners

  • This class teaches the long form of Tai Chi and is suitable for beginners as well as those looking for a refresher.

  • No prior experience is required to join.

  • The class runs for approximately four months and each session lasts 1.5 hours.

  • After completing the four-month course, the class restarts for new students.

See the Beginner Course section below or our FAQ page for more information.

Continuing Level 2

  • This class is for those that have completed or have made it through most of the beginner’s program.

  • Instruction is lighter with a focus on practicing the sequence of the set.

Continuing Level 1

  • More emphasis on details of the moves and the form. Greater focus on foundations to build strength, flexibility, and balance.

  • A set is usually done during class, but sometimes this can be missed depending on moves/sequence being worked on.

Maxx Class

  • This class is highly demanding, both physically and mentally,
and places a deeper emphasis on understanding the form in much finer detail. A commitment to train is required.

  • MAXX class is a platform for instruction when the participant is ready, although it is not essential to be an instructor to participate in this class.

  • MAXX participants are invited to the class, however, requests to join are also welcome.

Beginner Course

Fall 2024

Our four-month Beginner Course runs until January 2025.
The cost is $160 for 4 months, which includes registration fee and a T-shirt.

The introduction to Tai Chi begins on September 9, 2024. We accept new students for this course up to Monday, September 23.

Tai Chi is a form of moving meditation that results in students finding balance and relaxation, while improving body awareness, strength, flexibility, and mental/cognitive health.

We practice a modified Yang set, as developed by Taoist monk Moy Lin Shin, to maximize the health benefits from its gentle and effective movements.

Contact us to register or learn more about the course.
